Party with the Americans

These girls go to Cal State schools too! Alex on the left and Charlene on the right - very fun!! Alex wqas brave enough to have a "flat" party...kinda got crazy!

Crazy week for all!

They do beer bongs in the UK! That's Alex having one! Oy! Glad I stayed away from that!

This was a really fun night!

Lava Bar - The Final Episode

Time to head home...

This picture was soooo funny! So that's Rhys on the right trying desperately to get his shirt on. He tried for about a minute, but no luck.

Ginger - alive and well

Rob - holding on for dear life

I'm realizing now that I have quite a few pics of cab rides.

Ok, seriously time to go to bed now...

Lava Bar - Part IV

This man came out of nowhere! He was talking football with Liam, but he's a Chelsea fan. Liam was NOT happy about that. That kid in the back is named Rhys (like Reese). He was oh so drunk and feeling pretty bad.

More dancing on the makeshift dance floor!

A nice group picture turned bad. This stranger turned out to be a dirty old man. Let's just say he was holding on a bit too tight during the picture.

Lava Bar - Part III

Sexy poses!!

MORE SHOTS?!?!?

GINGER!!! He kept tapping me on the shoulder and telling me to take a picture of him dancing. Notice that we are not even on the dance floor! I think this might have been the best night of his life! Too cute!

Kerry and Osian - Hmmm, which of these guys had a dozen shots?

Lava Bar - Part II

And the dancing begins!!

So, this guy on the left ended up with us here but no one really knew who he was - not even his name. We call him "Ginger" but now we know his name is Matt. He wins the most smashed award for this night!!

YMCA in the UK!! The DJ was looking for the best dancers during this song. I think Liam and Rob have a pretty good chance, right?

On the stage!!! Wooohooo! Check out Ginger!!

Rob and Ginger showing off the prize shirts they won for their dancing! Please zoom in to see what they say! Too funny!!! They were VERY proud of themselves!!

Lava Bar - Part I

This is Lava Lounge. A really fun bar with music and a dance floor. We stayed here for the remainder of the night. Lots of pics from this night. Notice the change in levels of intoxication (particularly of the guys)!

Rob and Osian (sounds like Ocean)

Cute couple! ;-)

Amy, Kerry and Vicki

Liam and Katie

Osian and Rob sampling the shots. Oy, did they have a lot of shots!!!

Here's the menu of the shots they serve at Lava. Pretty good names!

More from the Sleeper Night

This is at Ice - a bar on Wind Street. All female bartending staff. I left my number there to possible get a job. We'll see...

Amy enjoying an Alco-pop called VK. Literally like a juice and vodka mixture. These are apparently quite dangerous as they tend to sneak up on you. I have yet to have one...

Kerry and Vicki

Kerry is trying out for the rugby team. We're going to his first scrimmage today!

These guys were so impatient this night. Every time we went to a bar, we'd get one drink, they'd down theirs, and then want to move on. I guess it worked out in the end because the last place we found was pretty awesome. Trial and error...

Sleeper Night in Swansea

You know those nights where you decide to have an "easy" night and just go out for a couple of drinks? That's what this night started as. By the end of the night, we had hit four different bars and had a proper tour of Wind Street in Swansea! Very fun night and good bonding for my flatmates!

It is the same night as the blog below. Amy, Vicki and I were smart enough to watch our drinking, but the guys did not have such self-restraint!

Kerry and Liam - way too cool and, at this point, sober!

While Amy, Vicki and I danced, we asked the guys to watch our belongings and beer...

But instead...

They drank it!!!! And took pictures of it!!
Truth be told, we needed the help. And we knew they were ready to move on.

On to the next pub...

Not another Theme Party

After spending 5 pounds just to get in to the Superheroes party, we decided against going to the Pornstars and Pimps party. Instead, Amy and I headed to town with my flatmates to a pub.

Here's Amy and I drinking a pitcher of Cheeky V - a mix of a blueberry vodka liqueor "pop" and port. Tasty!

Amy's friend Vicki met us at the pub and helped us finish the pitcher.

We didn't go to the party, the party came to us! The line for the Pornstar party was super long, so most of the people just came to nearby pubs to "pre-game."

These guys are official LA cheerleaders! Note the purse - I actually saw him pull his wallet and cigs out of it. Purses are so handy!

This costume was definitely X-rated! Mature audiences ONLY! It's a bit dark because I took it from a distance - no way I wanted him coming near our table!!

I guess this guy hasn't seen any porn in a while! His costume was more geriatric than ron jeremy.

Another note about the costumes:
There were obviously countless of girls dressed with next to nothing on that I did not have the pleasure of photographing - apologies. But it was quite funny at this pub because there were so many old men there drinking with their buddies, and I am amazed none of them had a heart attack from checking out the skimpy birds!

Superheroes and Villains!

So there was a theme party on Monday called Superheroes and Villains. It was at a club in town called Play. We bought our tickets and searched all over town for cheap "costumes." Marie on the left had a Batman shirt and Alexin, with the hat, also chose a Batman-esque-ish theme - but I think she looks a bit more like Super Madeline! Amy on the right is obviously Catwoman - too cute!

I needed something cheap and easy. The Superman(woman) costumes for adults were all over 20 pounds - too expensive! So instead, I bought a baby Superman costume that consists of a bib (shown above) and a cape. The cape did not fit my big head, so I cut it off and made it a headband. Total cost of costume: 6 pounds! Thank you very much!!

If I ever had to go to prison...

I think I'd choose Swansea's prison. It is on the coast road, literally across the street from the beach and amidst a residential and tourist area!! There is actually an apartment complex across a small street from the prison. Can you imagine if that was my housing?!?!

So, right after Alexin took this picture, I heard all this loud, deep-voiced yelling behind the main door. You should have heard how loud I screamed, "RUN!!! THEY'RE COMING OUT!!"

I'm trying to look guilty as charged. A difficult look for me! ;-)

Around Town

This is walk along the coast from Swansea University to the City Centre. Tree-lined and gorgeous! I can't wait until mid-autumn when the leaves change color!!!

TESCO!!!!
Giant supermarket!! And, it's open 24 hours during the week! Crazy!

Something like a Walmart but with better food. They sell appliances, cosmetics, ready-made meals, everything you could imagine!!

In town - this is one of the main roads. Across the street is an arcade you walk through and then you are in the Quadrant shopping center by the bus station. Lots of shops and cafes there!!

Cute shops! I love the small town feel here!

This is along the coast road. So many great pubs and LOTS of beach hotels...make your reservations people!!!

More Fresh and Free

Marie and I at Fresh and Free. She's my flatmate - so sweet!!

My roomie Kerry with an unknown "bird"

I guess the face paint is an added touch to make the Woodsiders look more, uh, camoflagued?

A few drinks!

Alexin and Joe - she was chatting him up pretty fiercely about George Bush and other politics. We haven't seen him since.

Amy on the way back home.

On the back of her shirt are all the events planned for this week. So far we've been to 3 or 4 of the charge events and ALL the free ones!
